
Howard Schubiner, MD, is an internist and Clinical Professor at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and lectures nationally and internationally on chronic pain and mind-body medicine. He is the author of Unlearn Your Pain: The Science of Recovering from Chronic Pain, Fatigue, Anxiety and Depression, to be published by The Open Field/Viking Press in May 2026.
Dr. Schubiner has also written The Unlearn Your Pain Workbook, The Unlearn Your Anxiety and Depression Workbook, and Hidden From View with Dr. Allan Abbass. He co-developed Emotion Awareness and Expression Therapy with Dr. Mark Lumley and contributed to the development of Pain Reprocessing Therapy. His research demonstrates the effectiveness of both approaches. Dr. Schubiner sees patients virtually and lives in the Detroit area.

David D. Clarke, MD is President of the Association for Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms. He is also Clinical Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology Emeritus at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon, USA. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and practiced Gastroenterology in Portland from 1984 to 2009. During that time, he diagnosed and treated over 7000 patients whose symptoms were not explained by organ disease or injury.
Dr. Clarke has lectured extensively on neuroplastic symptoms to health care professionals, graduate students, and the public across North America and in Europe. He has done hundreds of interviews for TV, Radio, and podcasts and was an Executive Producer of three documentary films about Neuroplastic Symptoms.

Christina Sarno Horner, LMHC, is the owner and clinical director of Suite 14 Psychotherapy, a group practice in Brooklyn, New York. Her late father, Dr. John Sarno, identified chronic pain as a neurogenic mind-body disorder (TMS) and pioneered a model of treatment that Christina has carried forward in her own clinical work. Lifelong exposure to his ideas shaped her path into psychotherapy and continues to influence her focus on emotional awareness and mind-body healing.
Christina specializes in treating mind-body conditions, depression, and complex anxiety disorders. She is the co-founder of the Sarno X Sachs Solution, a practitioner training program developed with Nicole Sachs, LMSW, and Lisa Eisenpresser. Christina also teaches and supervises clinicians and holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University.

Rebecca Kennedy, MD, is a family medicine physician with over 20 years of experience. She began her career at a migrant farmworker clinic and later spent 15 years at Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon, where she led the Long COVID specialty group.
In 2023, she founded Resilience Health Care, focused on treating neuroplastic symptoms. She now provides virtual care to patients worldwide, with special emphasis on long COVID. Dr. Kennedy is active in teaching and advocacy, works with the Oslo Chronic Fatigue Consortium, and serves as board chair of the Association for the Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms.

Dr. John Stracks is an integrative physician who specializes in chronic health conditions that haven't been helped through conventional Western medicine. He is particularly interested in helping people make the mind-body connection--the connection between what is going on in their lives and what is going on in their bodies as the way to heal chronic pain. He left his hospital practice in 2017 to co-found what is now Cormendi Health with his wife, Lisa; he works with clients all over the globe through individual sessions, classes, and discussion groups to help them find healing.

Dr. Yonit Arthur, AuD is a board-certified audiologist, vestibular specialist and coach who specializes in helping people with chronic dizziness and other vestibular symptoms. Dr. Yo is certified in advanced vestibular rehabilitation and concussion treatment through the American Institute of Balance and is also a certified strength coach. She has been trained in multiple treatments for neuroplastic and functional neurologic disorders, and has undergone extensive training in counseling, including inferential cognitive behavioral therapy and experiential modalities such as IFS and coherence therapy.

Charlie Merrill is a physical therapist and founder of Merrill Performance in Boulder, Colorado. For over 20 years, he has helped athletes and active people return to high performance by integrating mind-body approaches with manual therapy and movement.
He co-created Beyond Pain Education with Dr. Howard Schubiner to train clinicians in psychosocial approaches to pain and also leads Unlearning Pain for Athletes. Charlie creates educational content across podcasts, YouTube, and social media, supports recovery from chronic symptoms, and consults in digital health technology. He lives in Boulder with his wife and three children.

Jim Prussack is a licensed physical therapist who specializes in the treatment of neuroplastic symptoms. Jim has been practicing for over 25 years and has a keen interest in the mind-body connection. His focus is on helping others understand the role the brain plays in both producing and then reducing neuroplastic symptoms. He currently works with patients worldwide over zoom.
