Remember, when it comes to who you are, you are gold. – Dr. Dan Ratner

Welcome!

I want to welcome you all to my website and community, where I work to bring people complete relief from chronic pain and other symptoms and to build towards the most powerful and happy living for each person. Eighteen years ago, I felt a twinge in my back that instantly worried me. What if I became one of ‘those people’ who developed chronic back pain? Within a week I had developed terrible pain symptoms, with a very tight muscle in my upper back, the worst pain at the base of my lower back and, a few weeks later, crippling, excruciating back spasms multiple times a day and waking me up every night. These spasms are still, to this day the worst pain I ever experienced by a factor of 100. When I went to medical doctors for help, I was shocked to find that the very people I had relied on my whole life to help with physical issues not only had no solutions to offer, but they didn’t seem to think there was much that could be done. The worst of them didn’t even seem to care! This led to a hopelessness and a downward spiral of alienation and a sense that life was not really all that worth living. I gave up basketball, I sat in hard backed chairs, I changed my mattress…I lived with my back as the center of my life, and unhappily so. It was the very first thing I thought about in the morning and it was the last thing I thought about when I went to sleep at night.

After two years of this experience, a chiropractor was able to help me stop the spasming, thankfully, but I still lived with pain every second of every day for eight horrific years. When I was first introduced to the works of Dr. John Sarno, I was skeptical and even took a year before I let myself read it. What I read, though, changed my life. Within two months, I saw changes in my physical symptoms just from how I was thinking. I came to understand that my physical pain was part of a benign, reversible process between the mind and body that could be stopped in seconds, despite having lasted for eight years when it was not understood. Over the course of the next few years, I looked, deeply, at these issues and came to find that even Sarno’s brilliant work could be built upon to make further gains. While his work focused almost exclusively on unconscious emotional issues leading to pain and the need to accept the diagnosis fully, I found that two other factors were playing a key role in the pain cycle and could be addressed to bring relief: Doubt — lack of certainty, questions, confusion, and fear — of any kind, related to the symptoms, even of a conscious variety, was cementing the emotional onset of these symptoms and proved to be the key to breaking the cycle of chronicity; and Power — the relationship with the self and whether it feels safe, good, and thriving — was determining whether people could get free of plateaus or getting stuck in their recovery.

From there, I developed my three columns system, to provide an organized, scientific, and logical attack against the three sources of pain — Emotions, Doubt, and Power. Using Columns Work™, you can understand each and every experience you have with pain and other symptoms to resolve them within seconds and get back to living a life without chronic symptoms. In addition, this system can help you understand the communication between your body and your conscious mind, so that you can find your core narrative — who you are, what you need, and what you are going to do to address what happened to you and how it impacted you. By using my system of understanding your mind and your body, symptoms do not stand a chance. You can end your suffering and, even better, find the power in you to live your best life. I look forward to helping you in your journey.
